This piece is a live edge bowl cut from Flowering Dogwood that was rough cut wet, then allowed to spalt for 2 full years before finishing. The spalting has produced a pinkish cast to the wood and the finish imparts a stone-like appearance. The finish was achieved by polishing to 12,000 x, then buffed with wax.
