This is a large bowl over 1 foot (30 cm) diameter cut from Big Leaf Maple wood rescued from a firewood pile. It is a live edge bowl from a burl that has stabilized cracks and heavy spalting. The piece is deeply attractive and highly eye catching. It is finished with a high gloss lacquer that allows the depth of the burl figure to shine.
